WIGAN OBSERVER
Check out this weeks Wigan Observer for a write up of our athletes endeavours from last weekend.
Hurricane Harvey Storms To Win
Adam Harvey became only the 5th male Wigan Harrier to go sub 48 seconds for 400m at the Northern League meeting in Wigan on Saturday 7th June. He won the A race in 47.9 seconds to further improve his personal best.
Harveys performance topped off a fantastic day for the team who won the match by over 70 points to extend their lead in the league, this despite several of our female athletes missing due to the UK Womens League meeting in Derby, not to mention the horrendous weather. The youngsters who stepped in were great and really did the club proud.
In other results our UK Womens Athletics League team travelled to Derby for their 2nd match of the season which saw them finish in 4th place on the day this places them in 5th place overall in the 1st Division. A great performance by our ladies.
Meanwhile at the FBK Games in Hengelo, Netherlands Jenny Meadows continued her good form with a seasons best 2:00.51 over 800m.
