Details of Our Club
Introduction to Wigan Harriers
Here at Wigan we have one of the very best athletics facilities in Great Britain. We have a stand for spectators which also houses an indoor track, long jump pit, pole vault area, throw area and weights room. Outside we have an eight lane track (with a ten lane home straight).
Every other Wednesday we have a physiotherapist available for consultation by our athletes. Our members don't only come from the Wigan Area they come from all over the north west!
Over recent seasons we have been very successful in competition both with individuals and teams. We are very proud to have athletes who represent their boroughs, their counties and also international athletes, as members of the club. However we are equally as proud of all of our other athletes who may not have achieved as much as some of their teammates, but endeavour to reach the highest levels of performance that they can. Without such athletes there would be no Wigan Harriers and indeed no athletics competition.
The club recognises the need for athletes to enjoy their sport and encourages young athletes to have fun in athletics, while working to improve their skills and reach their full potential. As a club we are always looking for new members and friends to either compete or to help in whatever way they are able, be it with coaching, helping at events or making cups of tea, all are welcome. (Especially with the tea).
So come on down and be part of a successful team. Please check out the contacts list to find out how you can get in touch with us, or come along on one of our training evenings when you can find people at the trackside to chat with them and find out more about how you could possibly help. If getting down to the track is difficult, you can always telephone, fax or e-mail us. You will find all the details you need to contact us on the Contacts Page.

Facilities
Not so many athletic clubs are as lucky as Wigan Harriers. We can boast one of the best stadia in the North West. (You can click on any of the three images below to see a larger version of the picture)
Pictured left is the home straight and the main stand of the Robin Park Stadium, at the centre of the Robin Park
Complex. We may not be able to guarantee weather as fine as in our picture, but a good venue and good competition,
we can guarantee!
The Indoor Track is something special. We do not have to worry about the weather here, just the times. Seven lanes,
well lit, along with pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump facilities, a throwing net and also a weights
room. This has to be the envy of many clubs, and it's all here at Wigan Harriers.
Our own club room. From our own personal "war bunker" we plot the downfall of our opponents. Actually, all we do is
produce the team sheets, and discuss how the training of our teams and individuals is going. Still, it's something
that many clubs have to do without!
Training Times
Training times at our club are as follows:
